The goal of this project was to be able to create a trebuchet that would be able to launch a penny 6 feet. I decided to attempt to accomplish this task by creating a frame out of plastic to hold two launch arms, made from thick paper. The launch arms would be attached by a metal rod to the plastic frame and the two launch arms will be held together by paper connectors.

The 10 quarters that I used as counterweights would be held in a plastic container attached by both sides from the launch arms, and the penny that would be launched would be held on the other side by said paper connectors acting as a small container.

My goal was to use the force of the metal rod, attached to the counterweight, hitting the plastic frame to launch the penny 6 feet.
