Full Time Equipment Engineer

As an Equipment Engineer in NXP’s ETCH department, I own and maintain AMAT 5200 Centura Dry ETCH tools — specifically the ECTVIA and ESLUG toolsets. My day-to-day work spans hands-on preventative maintenance, process troubleshooting, and cross-functional project leadership. In addition to maintaining tool health and uptime, I develop new diagnostic and automation capabilities that improve how engineers and technicians operate on the fab floor

Toolset Decommission — $100K Saved
Supported the full decommission of an ETCH toolset, managing polymer removal, gas purging, recipe deletion, and data removal. The project eliminated ongoing maintenance costs and removed safety hazards from the facility, saving the company $100,000.

Particle Mitigation CAB
Driving the qualification and change approval process for a new cleaning method to address debris-related chamber faults. The goal is to reduce how often full cleans are required, directly improving tool availability and throughput.

AI Maintenance Agent
Supported the Development of an AI-powered tool that helps technicians troubleshoot and maintain equipment faster. The agent will pull from internal documentation and historical data to provide real-time guidance, reducing resolution time and improving consistency across the team.

Hardware Standardization
Managed a fleet-wide rollout of a hardware improvement across all tools in the department. Coordinated with internal teams, tracked deployment progress, and ensured installations were completed with minimal disruption to production.
