As a Hardware Engineering Intern in Dell’s Infrastructure Solutions Group, I designed multiple concepts for a tool-less hard drive carrier by aligning customer requirements with engineering constraints and manufacturability, ultimately securing a patent for the finalized design. I created and refined 3D models in Creo, validated concepts through FEA and simulation, and supported design-for-manufacturing decisions across the product lifecycle.

I also explored Dell’s Failure Analysis, Shock & Vibration, EMI, Acoustics, Reliability, and Rugged Labs to understand how each discipline informs hardware performance. Through targeted design optimizations, I helped reduce hard drive carrier insertion time from 30 seconds to 5 seconds, generating an estimated $52,566 in yearly labor savings.
